Saving Consumers Time and Money on Prescription Drug Costs

This Monday(1/17/10), Genuity Group will be rolling out the BetterRxCard Group Advantage program which will make it easier for large groups –- employers, affinity organizations, non-profits (potentially) – along with health insurance brokers and other captive insurance companies and the like to help their stakeholders save money on prescription drug costs at the pharmacy.

 

Even employees with prescription drug insurance have problems with drug costs. Cost shifting over the years has increased co-pay costs paid when they pick up their prescription at the pharmacy. But there are also many times when prescription drugs are not covered (excluded) by insurance.

 

Fertility, weight loss, lifestyle drugs (yes, Viagra, Cialis among others), and many more.  From Monday’s pending press release:

 

“From Monday’s press release: “There are hundreds of very popular drugs that are typically excluded from the health insurance formulary. Some major examples include Synthroid, Tricor, Nexium, Viagra, Micardis, Cozaar, Altace, and Boniva among many others. These drugs encompass dozens of common conditions including, mental health, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, heart medications, acid reflux, diabetes, fertility, weight loss, pain and, arthritis among others.”

For years, Genuity Group has been engaged in finding new ways to save money on prescription drugs by blending technology with patients needs and doctor and pharmacist requirements.
